A few days ago, passing to Acqualagna for work, I stopped to eat at the Osteria del Parco: a fantastic culinary experience!

As everyone knows, Acqualagna is famous all over the world for its truffle, and I add, also for the beauty of the small country and the surrounding area.

Obviously there are many other restaurants in the country that can satisfy every palate and wallet but when I return to Acqualagna I think I will stop at the Osteria again for a white truffle tagliolino.

The stove is the chef Samuele Ferri: scents and flavors in a well cared for kitchen where no detail is left to chance. The restaurant is located on one of the main streets of the town and is set on two floors, one dedicated to fine wines and the other to the restaurant. You can eat à la carte or opt for a tasting, the portions are abundant so if you decide for the second, try to sit at the table very, very hungry!

Note: if you are planning to visit these areas, remember that from October 29, 2012, the 52rd National Truffle Fair of Acqualagna will open, which will continue until November 12, 2017. With its centuries-old tradition of research, production and sale of truffles, it will become the privileged meeting place for truffle lovers both at national and international level. With about 600 quintals of truffles of all kinds, around two-thirds of the entire national produce of the precious tuber and wonder of the wonders will be exposed in the beautiful main square in colorful stands ready to be tasted and bought.

Strolling along the 4,000 square meters of the Palatartufo, you will discover what is best served by traditional Italian cuisine: productions linked to truffles typical of the area, the many products and delicious examples of gastronomic production of the other Italian regions. You can also visit the area dedicated to the local handicrafts of furniture and the famous stone artwork.

Do not miss “The Truffle meets the Italian Regions”, the flagship of the event. Guided tastings, great chefs cooking shows, vip cooking challenges and “books to enjoy” presentations. The Living Room is designed as a theater whose stage is made up of a kitchen with a view on the table, and, behind the scenes, the mastery of chefs and truffle flavor.

The Acqualagna Truffle Fair also shines for all those activities at the Fair itself. During the event, exhibitions, conventions, presentations of products and events of great success are organized. Adjacent to the Living Room is the Palace of Taste, an old mansion restored and inaugurated last year in order to offer itself as a place where Food is History, Art and Tradition. Here you can make eductor for companies and food and wine tasting for the certification and presentation of the products, they hold theme evenings for guided tastings. From here start the Tasting Routes that redefine the boundaries of the territory in the name of the Gastronomic Republic of Acqualagna, proposing the right stages to taste the region’s food and wine specialties, overthrowing the typical concept of the journey where food is no longer an accessory but becomes the protagonist.

The Palazzo del Gusto will be a showcase of the excellence of the area with particular attention to the provincial and regional oenological productions. Wine producers will be present at all fair days, and guided tastings can be made thanks to the presence of sommeliers.
